All about Zakynthos

Theodoros Kolokotronis lived in Zakynthos from 10 April 1806 to 3 January 1821, when he left the island to take part in the 1821 Peloponnesian War of Independence. In Zakynthos he practiced the profession of a zoologist and was initiated into the secret greek Society "Filiki Etaireia" by the priest Anthimos Argyropoulos in the church of St. George of Filikon, where his bust is located today. Kolokotronis Street is located perpendicular to D. Roma str. at the height of the buildings of the former Tourism Organization EOT.
