Conehead Thyme is a herbaceous perennial shrub. It is cultivated in the Mediterranean and the Balkan countries. It is one of the most important and well-known aromatic plants of the Greek countryside. It is used in Greek cuisine, but it is also considered the most important beekeeping plant in Greece, as it feeds on a large number of insects during the flowering period.
