All about Zakynthos

The prefect Andreas Ioannou among other projects he left in Zakynthos, was the shaping and landscaping of the embankments in the area, where the "repara" (formation of little ports with rocks and later the mansions built behind these were named "Repara") existed before the earthquake, today's Municipal Plaza, naming the area "Park of the Fighters of 1821". Then he brought and placed the brass busts of Theodoros Kolokotronis (1770 - 1843) and Andreas Miaoulis (1769 - 1835). The bust of Kolokotronis is the work of the sculptor Antonios Karachalios (1919 - 2009).
