All about Zakynthos

Ιsland of Zakynthos is one of the largest olive oil productions in Greece. Part of the island is covered by olive groves as a rural landscape that catches the eyes of passers-by. Individual old olive trees but also plots with medieval olive groves can be found in the area of ​​Lithakia. Special trunks that look like a natural sculpture, not smooth but with bumps and cavities. The fruit-bearing trees remain even today unchanged in the history of the agricultural Zakynthos cultivated land. They could be designated and declared protected natural monuments due to their longevity. The Zakynthian people call the centuries-old olives "ntopies" that means "local".
