The old church of Agia Triada was by the sea until the earthquakes of 1893. The shacks of Gladstonos Street and the houses, built later, hid the view of the church from the sea. The temple was a three-aisled basilica. The Catholic bishop and great historian Baltasar Maria Remondini (Baltasar Maria Remondini) brought the design from Venice. The exact date of construction is not known. On the facade there was a built-in plaque with the inscription 1511, it is possible, however, that this is a reconstruction on the ruins of an older church. The towering and imposing spire was built in 1793, but lost its dome in the 1893 earthquake. The Holy Trinity was rich in images of great artistic and historical value, such as: the "Virgin Laurentina" in a wood-carved chair, the famous "Battle of Nafpaktos" by Romanos (16th century) and the Litany (1664) by Filotheos Skoufos. The gilded iconostasis hosted fourteen masterpieces by Nikolos Koutouzis. With the earthquakes of 1953, the church of Agia Triada was destroyed, but it was rebuilt, together with the bell tower, on the plot of the pre-earthquake prisons.
