All about Zakynthos

The church is located in the Dermata Grove, in the village of Tragaki. The location is one of the most beautiful of the island's countryside. Hills of cypress trees, kermes trees, meadows, olive groves, springs and lush vegetation surround all the sides of the remains of the deserted walls of the sanctuary. In the church there is an icon of the Virgin Mary, which is really old and considered miraculous. It was found around 1400 and represents the Virgin Mary Vrefokratousa (meaning Mary holding the infant Jesus).
